Year 3 Had a live virtual workshop from the Museum of Wales to talk about how slaves were treated and the food that Romans ate such as peacocks’ brains. This helped the children to imagine life as a Roman slave and as a wealthy Roman. The children were also able to ask our Roman visitor questions at the end. In DT this half term the children have been designing and making their own Roman shields, which culminated in a costumed march, attack and ‘testudo’ formation of battle stance and even charging at an imaginary tribe of Celts on the Astro today.
